Bloody Tourists

This limited edition archival inkjet print is one of a collection of 10cc artworks published by Hypergallery in 2012. The collection, 10 of 10cc, celebrates the wonderful work produced by Hipgnosis and StormStudios for 10cc, from the early days and throughout their career.

For Bloody Tourists, having failed to find the right scene on a trip to Barbados, Powell remembered a perfectly shaped bay by the airport in St Lucia and took the opportunity on his return flight’s stopover to grab his camera, dash across the runway, put himself in the frame and get his shot.

“It was very fortuitous and just one of those lucky things that often happened to Hipgnosis, actually.”
