5000 Layers Of The Onion

This limited edition album art print has been produced using a combination of silkscreen and inkjet techniques.

It is a beautiful and bright rendition of Simon Posthuma’s striking design for 5000 Spirits, or the Layers of the Onion, which was released in 1967 by The Incredible String Band. Although you would imagine from Posthuma’s design that this was a classic piece of 60s musical psychedelia, it can in fact be more accurately described as traditional folk music.

The Incredible String Band’s Mike Heron and Robin Williamson were re-united with Simon to sign this magnificent print in 2006.
