A Head Full of Dreams Butterfly

This limited edition Coldplay print, A Head Full of Dreams Butterfly, is printed on beautiful gold shimmer paper. Every print in the edition of 250 has been signed and numbered by the artist, Kristjana S Williams.

Her work may well feel familiar from the promotional artwork for the Frida Kahlo exhibition at the V&A, or the branding for Penhaligon’s Perfumery and of course from this beautiful cover for Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams: Live in Buenos Aires and Live in Sao Paulo.

The artwork takes an abundance of whimsical, re-imagined animals so intrinsic to Williams’ style, and weaves them together with recognisable Coldplay iconography; from the Flower of Life image from A Head Full of Dreams, to the digitally rendered face from A Rush of Blood to the Head.

“In the centre of the butterfly is the piano the band always take on tour and the butterfly itself represents Asia, Europe and the Americas. The monkeys which are a recurrent theme in my work, and feature in Coldplay’s Adventures of a Lifetime video too, here represent the band with Jonny and Will on the right and Chris and Guy on the left.” Kristjana S Williams

These are layered with motifs from the band’s history: a street sign from 268 Camden Road, the flat in which Coldplay had their first rehearsal; an image of Chris with his go-to vodka and cranberry.
