This previously unpublished and unseen photograph of David Bowie, entitled Starman, was taken by London Features in 1972. It is part of a series of Music Icons reproduced and designed by Michael Spencer Jones, in full colour. Printed in archival pigment ink on acid free 308 gsm Hahnemuhle paper, each print is signed, annotated and numbered on the front by Michael Spencer Jones. The golden astral sphere painted on Bowie’s forehead for his Ziggy Stardust persona was designed by Pierre Laroche, make-up artist to the stars. Laroche went on to design perhaps the most famous look for Bowie: the lightening bolt from Aladdin Sane. |
