Published in 2017, this limited edition archival inkjet print from the Tom Waits Swordfishtrombones artwork is available exclusively here at Hypergallery thanks to our collaboration with the Browse Gallery in Berlin and their unique access to the photographer, Michael A. Russ.

The photograph was the end result of a year-long collaboration between the photographer and the musician which had borne a series of beautiful photographs and the extraordinary video for the single In The Neighbourhood.

American musician and artist Kathleen Brennan had seen the work of Michael A. Russ at an exhibition in LA in 1983 and suggested to her partner Tom Waits that he visit too. She had seen something in the work that chimed with what Waits was trying to achieve and what came out of the project is, we believe, an image of breathtaking beauty which we are delighted and honoured to be presenting here for our collectors.
