Freddie Mercury

The Estate of Mick Rock and Hypergallery are thrilled to announce this collaboration between photographer Mick Rock and artist Ioannis, created in honour of Freddie Mercury and published on his birthday, September 5th.

This collaboration embarked upon together by the photographer and the artist finally sees the light of day with an edition of prints published exclusively by Hypergallery.

Mick Rock and Ioannis first met at Leber-Krebs Inc., when Mick came in to present his ideas for the Scorpions’ new album. Ioannis was already a fan of Mick’s work for his childhood favourites, Queen.

“It’s just about two friends working on something creatively. It’s about the experience more than anything else. We’re already talking about the next one. I don’t think this is gonna be a one off. I don’t know how many we’re gonna do, how many years we have left – at our time – we don’t know!” Ioannis, talking about the project with Mick, shortly before the photographer’s untimely death.

The final ‘Freddie’ edition has been meticulously overseen by artist Ioannis, in honour of his dear friend and their artistic partnership.

Every print purchased comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Hypergallery Ltd.
